iRobot Vacuum and Mop Review
This vacuum isn't scared to take on the stairs, unlike some others. However, like any mop and vacuum it is prone to getting blocked by debris such as loose tennis shoes or ribbons and yarn, play jewelry or other objects that are loose.
The iRobot Home App allows you to label rooms and create no-go zones. You can also track the performance of your mops as well as their battery status.
iRobot Combo j7+
The Combo j7+ joins the iRobot robot vacuum and mop lineup and combines the robotic cleaner's smart mapping capabilities with the ability to deal with spills. It is equipped with the same acoustic sensors onboard and iAdapt 2.0 navigation that are used in other Roomba options and maps your home 7x faster than earlier models. It also lets you set Keep out Zones (for rooms that the robot should avoid) and Clean Zones (for rooms that it should clean).
The most significant feature of the j7 is its robotic arm, which keeps the mop pad tucked away when not in use, and then lowers it to deal with carpets or hard flooring. The idea is to avoid spraying water onto the rug and the Combo j7+ does very well during my tests. The robot did not try to pass over the rug, even after I moved it around several times.
The arm is equipped with a 240mL tank which can be easily removed and filled. This makes it easier to use than the mop pads found on many other 2-in-1 robotic arms. It also utilizes the iRobot's PrevisionVision technology to avoid obstacles, which is more advanced than other systems of this type.
iRobot Combo i5
This multi-tasker is designed to mop and vacuum in one machine. The vacuuming process is performed with a specially designed bin that can hold up 60 days worth of debris and iRobot claims reduces the amount of dust re-released into the air during the process. The i5+ also comes with dual multi-surface rubber brush heads and Power-Lifting Suction that can tackle dust, dirt pet hair, and staining on floors. When you're ready to mop, just swap between the Mopping Bin and a compatible cleaning solution.
The i5+ runs iRobot OS and gets smarter the more you use it. It will learn your floorplan, creating an Smart Map that remembers room names and your specific cleaning preferences. The iRobot App allows you to set a schedule or direct the robot to clean a certain room.
iRobot has integrated the ability to detect household clutter like cords, shoes, toys and bags. It will then stop automatically and return to its base to dock, allowing it to recharge and finish the cleaning job at a later time. It is also compatible with voice commands such as Amazon Alexa, Apple Siri and Google Assistant, understanding around 600 voice commands, which is more than any other 2-in-1 robot.
iRobot Combo j5
This robot vacuum and mop from iRobot is a great choice for homes that have carpets and hard floors. It makes use of intelligent mapping to avoid obstacles and clean efficiently. It also has various mopping options that include a powerful SmartScrub feature which helps remove tough staining. It can also set No Mop Zones so that carpets won't be sucked up. The dock can refill the mopping fluid on a regular basis. The price is higher than the earlier Roomba Combo j7+, but it offers more features.
Its patented Mopping Drive System applies pressure to the floor to provide more thorough cleaning and eliminates tough stains. It also works under furniture and tight spaces to provide an even more thorough cleaning. The Combo j5+ can also be used with the iRobot Clean Base to automatically dispose of dirt.

It also detects and avoids items like backpacks, cords pet toys, kitty litter boxes, socks, shoes, and many more to ensure that you are free of clutter. You can schedule cleanings in your home and control your robot remotely using the iRobot App.
iRobot Combo i3
The iRobot Combo i3 has been updated from the original Roomba i3. It still comes with a HEPA-filter to remove allergens, and the same fantastic dust compartment that is outside, but it now supports smart mapping. You can now create no-go zones to stop the vacuum from cleaning these areas again. The i3 Plus has a lot of other fantastic features, such as its advanced cleaning system and 10x power-lifting vacuum. It also comes with a three-stage cleaning procedure. It has a textured finish to keep pet hair, dust and fingerprints from getting on.
It does well on plain flooring and can clean up the majority of debris, but it struggled with pet hair on low-pile carpets. It is quieter and does a fantastic job on high pile carpets. The i3 is a bit more expensive than the Roborock S4 Max but it comes with a self-emptying system that empties the dirtbag, replenishes its water reservoir, and cleans its mop pads.
With the i3 app you can make schedules for cleaning at a time that is suitable for your requirements. You can also control your robot with your voice assistant to begin or stop cleaning. It also tracks the unique floor plan of your home to offer personalized scheduling and cleaning routines. It utilizes the latest mapping sensors to navigate hardwood and carpet, and learns your routine to improve performance.
iRobot Combo i2
The Combo i2 is the latest robot mop and vacuum from iRobot. It combines iRobot’s smart floor cleaning technology to make it an excellent option for homes with hard flooring and rugs or carpets. The Combo i2 uses a combo system that can switch between vacuuming and mopping with the click of a button. It also has iRobot's advanced navigation technology. Its PrevisionVision navigation system is superior than the average and will stay clear of obstacles such as power cords - and staircases.
Its Smart Map remembers your rooms and your cleaning preferences. It will tell you whether the machine is in a room that requires a special attention, such as an area for living or cooking. It also has the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System that eliminates dust automatically for up to 60 days.
The dual multi-surface brush is a excellent feature of the Combo i2. They are more thorough than standard mops, removing dirt from edges and corners. The robot's acoustic sensor can do this. The Combo i2 is also equipped with powerful suction and an intelligent design. It is controlled by the iRobot app with voice assistants, as well as a schedule that can be programmed.
iRobot Combo i1
The Combo i1 robot vacuum can also mop. When the unit detects that a surface needs to be cleaned, it lifts and swings under it with a robotic arm equipped with an edging pad for cleaning. The back is equipped with a dustbin and water tank that can be removed to supply cleaning solution. The robot utilizes a specific Bona cleaning solution, but it can be used with other brands.
Unlike most robot vacuums, the Combo i1 can retract its mophead completely to the top of the robot when it spots carpet. This lets it vacuum and then clean the carpet with its microfiber cleaning cloths and ensure that all surfaces are spot-free. It comes with a set of sensors and navigation capabilities which help it avoid obstacles like cords and furniture.
It also has an upgraded battery to last longer as well as self-emptying mode that decreases the frequency of emptying the bin. It's a great option for families that are looking for the convenience of one best robot floor vacuum and mop with the versatility of multiple cleaning modes. It can be controlled by voice commands with Alexa or Siri on devices that are compatible with Google Assistant. It can also be scheduled to start and stop when you come and go.
iRobot Combo i4
This iRobot robot vacuum and mop is great for those who want a clean home without lifting a finger. It is compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can use voice commands to control it. It also has smart mapping technology so you can set a schedule and the robot will take care of the task for you.
It comes with an docking station that has an incredibly low profile, which occupies a small space. It also includes a dirt storage compartment that can be empty with the press of the button. The compartment is made of opaque plastic, so you don't get a glimpse of what's inside. The i4 is also lacking features such as the AI-powered obstacle avoidance and keep-out zones that are found on the j7 and the j7+.
It does, however, come with a powerful vacuum system and brushes made of rubber that don't get tangled by pet hair. It's a great choice for homes with high pile carpets because it can handle more dirt and debris than less powerful vacuums. The I4 is also less demanding in terms of maintenance requirements, has lower costs for recurring maintenance and also has a longer time of operation in its least powerful suction mode than the i7.
